Standard requirements for dock high mast lights

Usually, the high mast lights we talk about actually vary greatly according to their uses. The classification and names of high mast lights are different according to different usage occasions. For example, the ones used at docks are called dock high mast lights, and those used at squares are called square high mast lights. There are also port high mast lights, airport high mast lights, stadium high mast lights, etc., named after them.

In busy port terminals, the harsh marine environment poses severe challenges to lighting facilities. Salt spray erosion, humid sea breeze, and high humidity environment are like invisible "corrosive hands", which always threaten the life and performance of lighting equipment. Therefore, dock high mast lights must be highly anti-corrosive.

High Mast

TIANXIANG high mast lights adopt multiple anti-corrosion processes. The surface of the lamp pole is hot-dip galvanized and sprayed with high-performance anti-corrosion coating to form a "copper wall and iron wall"-like protective barrier, which effectively resists salt spray corrosion. The lifting system is exquisitely designed, allowing for easy lifting and maintenance of the lamp panel, which greatly reduces the risk of high-altitude operations. The light source uses high-efficiency LED modules with excellent lighting efficiency and lower energy consumption, just like "the brightest star in the night sky", providing uniform and stable lighting for the dock operation area.

Height requirements

The height of the dock high mast lights should be reasonably determined according to the power, brightness, irradiation area, and other factors of the lamp, generally above 25 meters. However, the maximum height of the high mast light also needs to consider the navigation requirements and safety requirements of the ship.

Brightness requirements

The illumination brightness of the high mast light needs to meet the lighting requirements of ships entering and leaving the port area. Generally, the illumination is required to be not less than 100Lx to ensure the safe lighting of the port area and the visual comfort of the operator's operation.

Electrical safety requirements

Dock high mast lights are under high electrical pressure and must meet the requirements of national electrical safety standards. In the process of designing and constructing high mast lights, the series circuit of the lamps should be buried in sections according to the actual situation to ensure the safety of the circuit.

Other requirements

In addition to factors such as height, brightness, and electrical safety, the construction and configuration of high mast lights must also consider requirements such as corrosion resistance and wind resistance. At the same time, the material of the lamp pole also needs to meet the requirements of relevant national standards.

Tip: Lower the lamp panel of the high mast light before the typhoon comes

Summer is a season with frequent typhoons. Generally, the lamp panel should be lowered before the typhoon comes.

The lamp pole and foundation of the high mast light are designed to withstand the wind force of a level 12 typhoon. Therefore, after the typhoon, the pole and foundation are generally safe and sound. But the situation of the high mast light panel is different. The high mast light panel is pulled by a wire rope and placed flat on the support frame on the upper part of the high mast light, relying on its gravity to maintain a stable balance state. Under normal circumstances, this balance can be maintained when the wind force is not large, thereby ensuring that the lamp panel is not damaged. Once a typhoon comes, the lamp panel will lose balance under the action of strong wind forces. It will collide strongly with the lamp pole, causing the lamp panel, lamps, and wire ropes to be damaged to varying degrees. The fasteners of each connection part will become loose to varying degrees, causing various safety hazards.
