How can I identify quality issues in LED lamps?

Currently, there are numerous solar street lights of various designs on the market, but the market is mixed, and quality varies widely. Choosing the right solar street light can be challenging. It requires not only a basic understanding of the industry but also some selection techniques. Let’s take a look at the details from LED lamp manufacturer TIANXIANG.

Our LED road lights truly prioritize quality in every detail. They use a high-CRI chip for the light source, providing exceptionally clear illumination at night and ensuring safety for both pedestrians and vehicles. The luminous efficacy reaches 130lm/W, and the driver is dual-certified by CE/CQC, ensuring overvoltage and overcurrent protection. We previously installed one for a park and it has been operating without a single malfunction for five years. Our specifications are completely transparent! If it says 50W, it’s 50W. It’s IP65 waterproof, and the test report is readily available. We never engage in false labeling.

1. Check the lamp housing

High-quality lamps have a pure, uniform color, free of uneven color or color bubbles. All joints are tightly connected, with uniform gaps. High-quality housings feel textured and substantial. Low-quality lamps, on the other hand, have loose joints, misalignment, and uneven coloring. Some poorly made lamps use less robust materials, and dent the housing evenly when pressed.

2. Check heat dissipation

Although solar street lights don’t generate as much heat as traditional sodium lamps, proper heat dissipation will extend the life of the light source. Heat dissipation can be measured with a thermometer or your hand. For the same power and operating time, the lower the temperature, the better.

3. Check the lead wires

As the saying goes, “Mount Tai accepts no soil, hence its height; rivers and seas accept no small streams, hence their depth.” Details determine success or failure. Although lead wires account for a small portion of a lamp’s cost, this minute detail can reveal a significant glimpse into the quality of the fixture. Generally, reputable manufacturers use high-quality copper wire of appropriate thickness as lead wires. However, some small workshops, to save costs, use aluminum wire instead of copper, significantly compromising quality. This not only seriously impacts the overall conductivity of the streetlight but also negatively affects the lamp’s performance.

4. Check the lens

The lens is like the soul of a solar streetlight head. Although it may not be visible on the outside, a streetlight with a poor lens is a surefire failure. A high-quality lens not only allows for more light but also reduces the lamp’s temperature.

All TIANXIANG product specifications are verifiable. Key indicators like power and waterproof rating are not falsely advertised, and authoritative test reports are available for verification. We never rely on low prices to attract customers. Instead, we ensure that every LED road light can withstand the test of actual scenarios through solid quality and clear after-sales warranty, providing customers with reliable and durable lighting solutions.
